Angel Di Maria’s troubled 12 months at Manchester United look set to come to a close after it was reported that Paris Saint Germain will sign the Argentina international for €60m (£43.1m) in the coming weeks.
The 27-year-old has struggled to make an impact since joining United from Real Madrid for a British club transfer record £59.7m and is set to sign a four-year deal at PSG, according to French daily Le Parisien.
The Parisian outfit had hoped to sign the Argentinean winger last summer, but saw their attempts thwarted by Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions, which have since been relaxed.
It is also believed that Yohan Cabaye’s £10m move to Crystal Palace has accelerated proceedings, freeing up enough money to make the deal happen sooner than expected.
Despite struggling for form, fitness and a place in Louis van Gaal’s United side, only Cesc Fabregas (160.6) played fewer minutes per assist than Di Maria (164.5) last season in the Premier League.
