Team News

Motherwell
Kilmarnock
  • Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell named three changes to the Steelmen side that was demolished 4-1 by Dundee at Dens Park in midweek, before a late winner for the Well saw them leave Paisley with three points as they beat St Mirren 1-0.
  • Aston Oxborough remained in goal behind Shane Blaney, Dan Casey and Liam Gordon in the back three. Marvin Kaleta took Jair Tavares' spot at right wing-back, with Steve Seddon remaining at left wing-back.
  • Harry Paton replaced Ewan Wilson to accompany Lennon Miller and Andy Halliday in the middle of the park. Tony Watt was ineligible to face his parent club, so Tawanda Maswanhise partnered Apostolos Stamatelopoulos in attack.
  • Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes named two changes to the Killie team that left it late to depart Dundee with a point in a 1-1 draw against United at Tannadice before a sole goal success over Hearts on Sunday afternoon at Rugby Park.
  • Robby McCrorie continued in goal behind Lewis Mayo, Joe Wright and Robbie Deas who left Killie at a numerical disadvantage against Hearts for 84 minutes. Bobby Wales replaced Danny Armstrong on the right-hand side with Corrie Ndaba on the left.
  • Liam Polworth, Fraser Murray and Brad Lyons were chosen in the middle of the park once again. Bruce Anderson and Marley Watkins lead the line as Killie captain Kyle Vassell missed their match at the weekend due to the birth of his newborn child.

Prediction

  • Friday night football comes to Fir Park as Motherwell host Kilmarnock, both teams having emerged victorious in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
  • Motherwell clinched a third successive league victory over Dundee United for the first time since 2009, after being on the right side of a seven goal thriller last Saturday, as the Well won against the Terrors for the third time this season after also knocking them out of the Scottish League Cup. Having overtaken United into fourth place, the Steelmen will want to stay there with a win here.
  • Kilmarnock kept their excellent recent record against Hearts going, having only suffered two defeats in their last 13 Scottish Premiership meetings with the Jambos. Despite an early sending-off, Killie kept it tight at the back on Sunday with keeping their discipline continuing to be a tricky task. Having risen to eighth with their weekend win, they will aim to keep rising up the league table.
  • Motherwell and Kilmarnock haven't met in the Scottish Premiership yet this season, but a sole goal proved enough for the Steelmen to sneak past Kilmarnock in August's League Cup meeting so the Well will fancy their chances of another victory on Friday night.
