- Steven Naismith made three changes after the Jambos' 4-0 pummelling against Greek outfit PAOK in Thessaloniki, before they lost their last league match 1-0 to Motherwell at Tynecastle prior to the international break.
- Alex Cochrane is rumoured to be out with an ankle injury, so could miss this match but the extent of the injury is unknown. Peter Haring replaced Toby Sibbick in midfield for the Motherwell match.
- Alex Lowry and Yutaro Oda started on the left and right flank respectively, as Stephen Kingsley and Kenneth Vargas dropped out. Liam Boyce continued in the starting eleven, supporting the main marksman Lawrence Shankland in attack.
- Aberdeen boss Barry Robson named two changes after the Dons were defeated by Swedish side BK Hacken at Pittodrie in their Europa League playoff tie, before they lost 2-0 at home to Hibernian in their last Scottish Premiership match.
