PSG dominate Champions League best XI after Anderlecht victory

Football’s most expensive player is WhoScored.com’s Champions League player of the week after an excellent showing in PSG’s comfortable 5-0 win over Anderlecht. Neymar earned a WhoScored rating of 9.93 to come in on the left wing having scored one, completed eight dribbles and made four key passes as the Parisian outfit secured safe passage to the next round of the Champions League. 

Neymar is one of three PSG representatives in the team of the week, with full-back pair Layvin Kurzawa and Dani Alves slotting in at left-back and right-back, respectively. John Stones features alongside Lenglet on the back of a solid display in Manchester City's entertaining 4-2 win in Napoli. The England international was again on the scoresheet and was an impressive performer with the ball at his feet, attaining a pass success rate of 90.5% from 74 attempted passes. 

Ibrahim Sehic features between the sticks after another solid showing against Atletico Madrid. The 29-year-old shotstopper earned the WhoScored man of the match award having made nine saves and two cross claims at the Wanda Metropolitano to earn Qarabag a crucial point. 

While Atletico Madrid struggled, their performance was nowhere near as poor as rivals Real Madrid, who fell to a 3-1 loss to Tottenham. Dele Alli was the man of the moment as the England international looked to make up for lost time as he bagged a brace in the victory. Marlos rounds off the midfield after a splendid showing in Shakhtar Donetsk’s 3-1 win over Feyenoord. The 29-year-old Brazilian bagged a brace in the victory in Ukraine. With five key passes, two dribbles, one tackle and one interceptions, the Shakhtar man did more than enough to earn a respectable WhoScored rating of 9.52. 

Teammate Facundo Ferreyra also played a key role in Shakhtar’s win over Feyenoord, with the Argentine scoring one and assisting one at the Donbass Arena. Spurs star Harry Kane completes the XI after he gained a WhoScored rating of 8.44 from their 3-1 win at Wembley. The England international recovered from a hamstring problem in time to feature and provided the assist for Christian Eriksen’s second half strike. Kane also made two key passes and completed three dribbles to cap a very good performance against Real Madrid.
