Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez is the European Player of the Week after the Blaugrana smashed Valencia on Sunday night.
Getafe, Le Havre, Genoa, Montpellier, Lens, St. Pauli, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Real Madrid are also represented in the XI.
David Soria (Getafe) – 8.39
Getafe had only scored five away league goals all season prior to their trip to Real Sociedad on Sunday, only to come away from the Anoeta with a 3-0 win. David Soria was key between the sticks as evidenced by a WhoScored.com rating of 8.39. Soria made four saves and two high ball claims in a solid showing.
Gautier Lloris (Le Havre) – 8.29
Gautier Lloris made it back-to-back Player of the Match awards even as Le Havre fell to a 1-0 home loss to Brest. Lloris managed two clearances off the line in the narrow defeat, and won seven aerial duels as he did all he could to help his side to a result.
Johan Vasquez (Genoa) – 8.62
Johan Vasquez was the star performer as Genoa made it back-to-back home league wins with a 2-0 victory over Monza on Monday night. The Mexican netted his first league goal of the season from one of three efforts, and won six aerial duels on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.62.
Modibo Sagnan (Montpellier) – 8.23
Montpellier gave their survival hopes a shot in the arm with a fine 2-1 win at Toulouse over the weekend. Modibo Sagnan was the star performer for the relegation threatened French side, netting his second league goal of the season, while also making five clearances, five tackles and three interceptions to return a WhoScored rating of 8.23.
Przemyslaw Frankowski (Lens) – 9.30
Lens right-back Przemyslaw Frankowski was key as his side claimed a 1-0 home win over Angers on Sunday. The 29-year-old scored Lens’ only goal in the narrow triumph, and was vital off the ball as Will Still’s side claimed all the spoils, making six tackles and six interceptions to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 9.30.
Fermin Lopez (Barcelona) – 10.0
With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating, Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez is the European Player of the Week. Lopez shone as the Blaugrana smashed Valencia 7-1 on home turf, scoring with both shots and providing two assists from three key passes, becoming the first Barcelona player to score two and register two assists in a La Liga game since Lionel Messi in 2019. A further four dribbles capped a memorable evening for the 21-year-old.
Morgan Guilavogui (St. Pauli) – 9.00
St. Pauli did their survival hopes the world of good as they secured a 3-0 win over Union Berlin, with Morgan Guilavogui directly involved in all three goals. The 26-year-old bagged a brace from two shots and provided one assist from two key passes to partner Lopez with a WhoScored rating of 9.00.
Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) – 9.34
Cody Gakpo was the star performer as Liverpool smashed Ipswich 4-1 on Saturday. Gakpo netted with two three shots and provided one assist with his only key pass, while two tackles and two dribbles saw the Dutchman return a WhoScored rating of 9.34.
Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth) – 9.75
No striker, no problem. Bournemouth put Nottingham Forest to the sword on Saturday with Dango Ouattara the key for the Cherries. Ouattara bagged a hat-trick from four shots to feature on the frontline with a WhoScored rating of 9.75.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle) – 9.04
Alexander Isak scored his 16th and 17th league goals of the season at the weekend as Newcastle eased past Premier League footers Southampton. Isak netted with two of four shots and completed two dribbles to make the cut with a WhoScored rating of 9.04.
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) – 9.39
Rounding off the XI is Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, who returned a WhoScored rating of 9.39 as he scored for the fifth game running. The Frenchman netted a hat-trick at Real Valladolid on Saturday, scoring three times from six shots. Mbappe also completed two dribbles and made two tackles to justify his inclusion.
