WhoScored's Premier League Team of the Week: Cody Gakpo, Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak

With gameweek 23 in the Premier League done and dusted, we’re looking back at the weekend’s standout stars.

Represented in our Team of the Week are Bournemouth, Southampton, Wolves, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle.

Kepa (Bournemouth) - 8.36

On a weekend where Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper flattered to deceive once more, Blues loanee Kepa continued to enjoy life between the sticks for in-form Bournemouth. The 30-year-old was forced into four saves as the Cherries put five past third-placed Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Jan Bednarek (Southampton) - 7.84

Staying on the south coast, Southampton defender Jan Bednarek earns a place in our XI having headed home his second goal in as many Premier League games on Saturday. The Poland international may have come out on the losing side at St Mary’s but contributed two tackles, two blocks, six clearances - including one on the goal-line - and five ball recoveries, in a respectable individual showing.

Emmanuel Agbadou (Wolves) - 8.11

Like Bednarek, new Wolves centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou makes our Team of the Week despite suffering defeat, after an imperious display against Arsenal on Saturday. The Ivorian defender made more tackles (6), successful dribbles (4), passes (78) and won more duels (18) than any other player on the pitch at Molineux.

Lisandro Martinez (Manchester United) - 8.22

After his goal at Anfield a number of weeks ago, Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez came up trumps once again for Manchester United, this time at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening. The 27-year-old saw a long-range effort deflected past Bernd Leno in the Fulham goal on 78 minutes, a strike which ultimately sealed a big three points for Ruben Amorim’s side.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 8.12

Arne Slot’s Liverpool continued their race towards the Premier League title with a 4-1 win over Ipswich on Saturday, and it was no surprise to see Mohamed Salah among those to find the net at Anfield. The Egyptian star is now just one goal shy of the 20-mark after 22 games, and remains one in front of Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot.

Tyler Adams (Bournemouth) - 8.55

The first of two Bournemouth players to make up our midfield duo is United States international Tyler Adams, who provided his second and third assists of the season in Saturday’s thrashing of Nottingham Forest. Adams set up Justin Kluivert’s ninth-minute opener, while he also teed up Dango Ouattara’s second goal of the afternoon on 61 minutes.

Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth) - 8.90

Cherries team-mate Justin Kluivert joins Adams in the midfield, with the Dutchman following up his hat-trick at St James’ Park last weekend with another fine performance this time around. The 25-year-old found the net to put the hosts ahead inside the first 10 minutes, before providing the assist for Dango Ouattara to doubled the hosts’ lead a short way into the second half.

Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) - 9.34

Despite Salah’s contributions, the star of the show for Liverpool on Saturday was opposite winger Cody Gakpo, who scored twice and provided an assist in the victory over Ipswich. Gakpo set up Salah’s goal 10 minutes prior to the break, before going on to find the net himself in the 44th and 66th minutes.

WhoScored's Premier League Team of the Week: Cody Gakpo, Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak

Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth) - 9.75

With a WhoScored rating of 9.75, Bournemouth’s hat-trick hero Dango Ouattara is our Premier League Player of the Week. In the absence of the injured Evanilson and Enes Unal, 22-year-old Ouattara has seamlessly stepped into the centre-forward role for Andoni Iraola’s side, and found the net with three of his four attempts on goal on Saturday afternoon - doubling his league goal tally for the season in the process.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 8.77

Though there was an impressive debut for new attacking signing Omar Marmoush, it is Manchester City striker Erling Haaland who makes our Team of the Week following the 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday evening.  Inside 20 second-half minutes, the Norwegian gave the hosts the lead with a well-placed lob of Robert Sanchez, before providing the assist for Phil Foden to seal all three points.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) - 9.04

Rounding off our best XI for gameweek 23 is Newcastle hitman Alexander Isak, who made it 13 goals in his last 10 Premier League games with a brace at Southampton on Saturday. The Sweden international now sits just two goals behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot, having found the net with two of four attempts on goal at St Mary’s Stadium.
