Tottenham man’s agent claims client turned down Galatasaray switch
The agent of Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has claimed the Dutchman turned down a loan switch to Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray.
The young striker only moved to White Hart Lane over the summer for a fee close to £20m after an excellent season for AZ Alkmaar, where he scored 27 league goals.
However, Janssen has struggled for regular game time and consistency having scored just three goals for Spurs, all of which have come from the penalty spot.
The 22-year-old’s agent Patrick van Diermen has since stated that his client rejected the chance to move to Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the season.
“He decided to turn down all interest,” Patrick van Diermen is quoted as telling Omroep Brabant via the London Evening Standard.
“Galatasaray came with an offer but Vincent will stay with Tottenham Hotspur. He decided to turn down Galatasaray.
“Vincent chose Tottenham Hotspur in the summer fully aware of what his chances would be to play.
“He signed a long-term contract with a good club with fantastic facilities and a good coach.
“Before he got injured he got playing time every week. He is enjoying his time and wants to fight for his chance.”
