Gabriel Jesus is poised to sign a new Manchester City deal worth £100,000-a-week less than 12 months after joining, claims The Daily Mail.
The Brazil international has made a stunning start to life at City after joining from Palmeiras at the start of the year and Pep Guardiola’s side want to reward their £27m signing with improved terms.
Jesus’ agent, Cristiano Simoes, has reportedly jetted in to Manchester for contract talks during the international break where the 20-year-old is primed to receive a significant wage hike on his current £70,000-a-week deal.
City’s main priority is to tie down Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva to new contracts but their desire to offer Jesus a new deal only illustrates the impact the Brazilian has had in such a short space of time.
Jesus has scored 13 goals in 16 Premier League starts since making his debut against Tottenham at the end of January, while also registering five assists in that period.
In fact, it has been more than 12 months since the Brazilian last finished a match on the losing side.
