West Brom part company with Pardew

Alan Pardew has left his position as West Brom manager by mutual consent, the Premier League strugglers have confirmed.

The 56-year-old was only appointed West Brom manager at the end of November but has failed in his attempts to steer the club clear of danger.

West Brom have lost their last eight Premier League matches in a row after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Burnley on Saturday.

The Baggies are rock bottom of the league and 10 points adrift of safety with six games left to save their top-flight future and are now on the search for Pardew’s successor.

“West Bromwich Albion and Alan Pardew have agreed to mutually part company today following discussions between both parties,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

“Assistant head coach John Carver will also be leaving. The club would like to thank Alan and John for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavours.

“First-team coach Darren Moore has been placed in charge of first-team affairs until further notice.”

Only Scottish Championship side Brechin (10) are on a longer active losing streak in all European leagues than West Brom.

The Baggies have only won three Premier League matches all season and two of those came in the first month.
