Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has snubbed a move to Sunderland in favour of Bournemouth, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
De Guzman, 27, spent two years on loan at Swansea City between 2012-2014 and is close to returning to the Premier League with newly promoted Bournemouth in a reported £5m deal.
Sunderland had been favourites to sign the Netherlands international but look set to miss out with reports in Italy claiming De Guzman’s relationship with manager Dick Advocaat is to blame.
The Dutch midfielder only managed 12 starts for Napoli in Serie A last season and is yet to feature for Napoli this season.
