Serie A defender set to pen new deal

The Juventus centre-back had been strongly linked with the three teams over the summer, though any move failed to materialise.

Their chances of signing the 29-year-old in January now appear to be over with Bonucci expected to sign a new deal with Juventus.

United in particular had been keen to sign another defender before the close of the summer transfer window, but were left frustrated in their efforts to reinforce at the back.
