Arsenal line up Alexis Sanchez replacement

Arsenal are considering a move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is expected to leave next month, according to the Daily Star.

Alexis was in fine form in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Palace on Thursday evening, bagging a brace to earn the WhoScored man of the match award.

However, the Chilean is expected to leave the Gunners in January or, at the very latest, at the end of the season, with Manchester City leading the race for the Arsenal man.

The north London side have been linked with a host of big names to replace Alexis when he does leave, with Zaha now a rumoured target for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson has made no promises that Zaha will still be at the club come the end of January, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City all linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international.

Zaha provided the assist for Andros Townsend’s second half goal on Thursday night and his good form this season could see Wenger make a move for the 25-year-old when the transfer window opens.
