Liverpool fail with £7m for Leicester defender

Leicester have rejected a £7m bid from Liverpool for teenage defender Ben Chilwell, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the England Under-20 international since the turn of the year but will need to match Leicester’s £10m valuation in order to get the left-back.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster the left side of his backline after Alberto Moreno was heavily criticised for his defensive performances last season and Chilwell has been identified as a key target.

The Leicester defender is yet to make a Premier League appearance and his only playing time came in the FA and League Cup for the Foxes last season (300 minutes).
