Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain are close to finding an agreement for the transfer of Goncalo Guedes back to the Spanish club, claims ESPN.
Guedes spent last season on loan at Valencia and was a revelation for the La Liga side, helping Los Che secure a return to the Champions League.
Premier League side Watford reportedly tabled a shock €60m bid for Guedes on deadline day for English clubs but Guedes only has eyes on returning to Valencia.
Marcelino’s team are now on the brink of securing the return of the Portugal international on a permanent deal, although will have to shell out more than their original offer of €40m (£35.8m).
Super-agent Jorde Mendes is now understood to be playing a greater part in negotiations and Valencia expect to pay in the region of €45m with a significant sell-on clause.
Guedes was part of Portugal’s 2018 World Cup squad but the 21-year-old failed to make any significant impression despite starting three matches.
Nevertheless, he played a direct hand in 14 league goals for Valencia last season (five goals, nine assists) and will be a club-record arrival at the Mestalla.
