Chelsea poised to land Borussia Dortmund starlet in January
Chelsea will accelerate their pursuit of Christian Pulisic and sign the Borussia Dortmund starlet in a £70m deal in January, according to The Daily Mail.
Pulisic is approaching the final 18 months of his current Dortmund deal and contract talks with the Bundesliga giants have stalled.
The 20-year-old has previously been linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United but Chelsea are set to beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.
Chelsea could be hit with a FIFA-imposed transfer ban for their alleged recruitment of under-age players and will bring forward their interest in Pulisic to January as a result.
Pulisic has dropped below 18-year-old Jadon Sancho in the pecking order for places at Dortmund this season, which would ease the impact of his potential departure.
The United States international impressed during a friendly defeat to England on Thursday night and now looks destined to make a Premier League switch.
Rather than settle for a cut-price fee for Pulisic next summer when he will only have 12 months remaining on his contract, Dortmund could command as much as £70m from Chelsea in January.
Despite a lack of regular playing time this season, Pulisic has completed the most dribbles in the Bundesliga since August 2017 (90).
