Manchester United looking to cash in on star player

Manchester United are looking to cash in on Paul Pogba in January, according to the Mirror on Sunday.

The Frenchman has cut a divisive figure at Old Trafford this season, with head coach Jose Mourinho allegedly dubbing Pogba “a virus” in the wake of United’s 2-2 draw at Southampton.

Pogba is unlikely to start United’s trip to Liverpool today amidst speculation United chiefs are prepared to cash in on the 25-year-old for the second time in his career, less than three years after spending £89m to re-sign him from Juventus.

United are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the World Cup winner next month, which will alert the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and PSG.

However, the trio, among other interested parties, will have to spend big in order to convince United to sell, with the Premier League side looking to recoup all of the £89m they spend to sign Pogba two-and-a-half years ago.

Despite supposedly underperforming for United this season, Pogba has a better WhoScored rating (7.04) than any other player for the Premier League side this term.
