Claudio Ranieri’s agent has revealed the former Leicester City manager has interest from China and Italy but the 65-year-old only has eyes on a swift return to the Premier League.
Leicester made the shock decision to sack Ranieri on Thursday just nine months after leading the club to a shock Premier League title and have now begun the search for his successor.
Despite Leicester’s abysmal title defence, there is still huge interest in Ranieri but his agent, Steve Kutner, insists he has no intentions to leave England after getting the boot last week.
“There already has been big interest in Claudio, both in Italy and in China,” Kutner told talkSPORT. “But his priority is to come back and manage in the English Premier League as soon as the opportunity presents itself.”
Ranieri came to close to success in a variety of jobs all over Europe before Leicester were widely slaughtered for appointing him Nigel Pearson’s successor and it came as a huge shock, arguably one of sport’s greatest stories, that saw him finally win a major league title with Leicester.
In his 81 matches in charge of the Foxes, Ranieri finished his time with a 44.4% win ratio and has given the club of a fighting chance of progressing into the quarter finals of the Champions League after their 2-1 defeat away to Sevilla last week.
