On-loan Wolves defender could be sold next summer

Real Madrid could elect to sell centre-back Jesus Vallejo this summer, reports Birmingham Live.

The Spanish defender is on loan at Wolves for the season, but is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Rather, Vallejo has featured prominently in their Europa League run to the group stages, including the two legged triumph over Torino.

However, the European champion is in line to make his league debut for Wolves against Chelsea this weekend given Willy Boly is suspended and Romain Saiss is an early doubt.

And reports suggest that Real Madrid could look to sell Vallejo this summer as they aim to balance the books following the arrivals of Eder Militao, Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, among others.

Wolves don’t have an option to buy Vallejo next summer, but would likely hope to negotiate a permanent deal should the 22-year-old, who has recently spent time on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Zaragoza, impress when handed the chance to shine.

Wolves are one of two teams yet to win a Premier League match this season having drawn three and lost one of their opening four games.
