Sevilla plot audacious move for Chelsea defender

Sevilla are interested in handing Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen regular playing time next season, reports El Desmarque, via Football Espana.

Christensen returned to Chelsea at the end of last season after spending the last two seasons on loan at Bundesliga side Gladbach.

Kurt Zouma’s impending move to Stoke has confirmed that Christensen remains in Antonio Conte’s thoughts for the upcoming campaign but the arrival of Antonio Rudiger from Roma will inhibit his chances of regular playing time.

Sevilla are watching the situation closely and are interested in striking a deal to sign the Denmark international with the Premier League champions.

The La Liga giants want to enter negotiations with their English counterparts and are hopeful of securing a €15m (£13m) permanent deal, although given Chelsea rejected a similar bid from Gladbach 12 months ago, it’s unlikely that would be enough to convince Conte’s side to sell.

Christensen has made more accurate passes in his own half (2680) than any other Bundesliga player since August 2015.
