Chelsea stars back in the Premier League Team of the Week

Stamford Bridge was a cauldron of mixed emotions on Saturday afternoon. For the majority of Chelsea fans, it was a game to let the players be known of the anger felt towards their part in Jose Mourinho’s dismissal.

Roman Abramovich was reluctant in parting ways with their most successful ever manager for a second time, but it was the right thing to do for all concerned. Chelsea had become toxic and the release of life without Mourinho was particularly evident in the displays of certain individuals.

Oscar was certainly one of those that looked to be jubilant following Mourinho’s exit. His WhoScored rating of 8.51 was only second to Yannick Bolasie (8.71) over the weekend in the Premier League, as he turned in his best performance of the season in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Sunderland.

The Brazil international completed one more dribble against Sunderland than he had managed in his previous 11 Premier League matches this season (6) and also completed at least one more tackle than any other Chelsea player on display at Stamford Bridge (4). Oscar was also on hand to dispatch Chelsea’s final goal from the spot – his first in the league since the opening day of the season.
