Lucas Moura desperate to leave Paris Saint-Germain

Lucas Moura is unhappy by the way his Paris Saint-Germain career has panned out and wants to leave the Ligue 1 giants.

The 25-year-old has dropped down the pecking order following the summer arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and is now deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Unai Emery.

PSG are keen to recoup some of the money they invested into the aforementioned summer signings and Moura is the first that will be allowed to leave.

Emery’s side have struggled to find any club willing to match their financial demands for Moura but the Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League all month.

“It’s a brutal blow. I’m gutted that I’m no longer playing, to no longer be able to express myself as I was doing before,” Moura told L’Equipe, via The Daily Mail.

“I’m not happy. I thought I’d built something solid with this club, but that’s clearly not the case.

“It’s true that La Liga could suit me. With my speed and technique, I could perform well there.

“But it doesn’t matter where I end up, I know what I’m capable of. I didn’t become an international by chance.”

Manchester United and Arsenal have been regularly linked with Moura this month but have since cooled their interest after pursuing alternative targets, leaving Tottenham as the frontrunners.

While Mauricio Pochettino’s side are favourites, they are only interested in signing Moura on an initial loan deal until the end of the season before making a decision on whether to sign him permanently.

In the last four Ligue 1 campaigns, only Florian Thauvin (272) has completed more dribbles than Moura (264).
