Bayern Munich earmark Ziyech as alternative to Hudson-Odoi
Bayern Munich will turn their attention to Ajax ace Hakim Ziyech if they fail to sign Chelsea teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, claims Sport Bild.
The Bundesliga giants had several bids for the England international rejected in January despite tabling offers in excess of £30m.
Hudson-Odoi will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Chelsea deal this summer and Bayern are planning to rekindle their interest.
A move for the 18-year-old has been made more complicated by the fact he ruptured his Achilles’ tendon at the end of April.
Hudson-Odoi is confident he will make a full recovery by September but Chelsea are still not prepared to roll over and let him leave.
Bayern are bracing themselves for tough negotiations with the Premier League outfit and are drawing up alternatives.
One of those is Ziyech, who has enjoyed a sensational season for Ajax, which culminated with league success on Wednesday.
Ziyech also played an instrumental part in Ajax’s surprise run to the Champions League semi-finals and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old finished the Eredivisie campaign as the highest WhoScored rated player in the division (8.54) after playing a direct hand in 29 goals (16 goals, 13 assists). He also won the WhoScored Man of the Match on 11 occasions.
