Patrick Bamford has cancelled his season-long loan move to Crystal Palace and will return to Chelsea.
The England Under-21 international has failed to make any impression on Palace manager Alan Pardew since joining over the summer.
Bamford, 22, was named the Championship Player of the Year last season following his remarkable goalscoring form with Middlesbrough, but has endured what he has brandished a ‘terrible’ time at Selhurst Park and will now return to his parent club.
“That was my last game for Palace,” he told BBC Sport. “If I were being honest, it has been terrible. No one wants to sit on the bench and not play.
“It was my decision. The gaffer hasn’t actually spoken to me.”
Bamford scored 17 goals for Boro in the Championship last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League in the play-off final and his form had raised suggestions he could get a run in the Chelsea first team.
However, he was sent to further his education at Palace, but he ends his time there after six months having made just six appearances from the bench and without scoring.

The trouble is Bamford is rubbish, don't try to shift the blame to Palace.
@What4 to be honest he's not rubbish. He's just not better than what they have. He's a championship player. Just as Arsenals Gnabry should be in the championship and not at westbrom.
