Stoke and Everton chasing Hamburg January signing

Hamburg are in danger of losing January arrival Walace after just six months with Everton and Stoke interested in signing him in the summer, reports The Daily Mail.

Walace only joined Hamburg from Gremio in the January transfer window in a deal worth £8m but the Brazilian has made a real impact already in such a short space of time and has caught the eye of some Premier League sides.

The 21-year-old has only made two appearances in the Bundesliga this season but he has already got off the mark with a goal in Hamburg’s shock 3-0 win over RB Leipzig on his league debut.

Walace is not known for his goalscoring form, but more his ability to break up play and help shield the back four. In fact, his league debut goal was the same amount as he had managed in 77 league appearances for Gremio over the last three campaigns.

His ability to break up play is highlighted by the fact he averages a staggering six interceptions per game over his two league appearances.
