Zidane drops Pogba hint

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has suggested that the La Liga giants remain in the race to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.

The France international has been subject to intense speculation over his future, with Manchester United supposedly closing in on a move for their former midfielder.

The player, though, is thought to favour a move to Real Madrid, which has thrown a spanner in the works over Pogba’s return to Old Trafford.

When quizzed on the club’s interest on Pogba, Zidane refused to discuss a player that wasn’t his, but hinted that a move is still possible.

“I don't know. At the moment we are here working. Until [Aug. 31] anything can happen. He is not yet a Madrid player. We cannot talk about what will happen,” he’s quoted as saying by ESPN.

Juventus are reluctant to sell the 23-year-old, but know Pogba’s exit would help cover the cost on Gonzalo Higuain’s big money move to Turin.
