Spurs, West Brom and Juventus feature in WhoScored's most read

Following another hectic week, with Champions League and Europa League football overshadowing domestic duties, we at WhoScored.com pick out the five most read articles on the website this past week.

Coming in at number five is Andy Brassell's look at Thomas Lemar. The young midfielder has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign for Monaco following his summer arrival from Caen and churned out an impressive performance in the 2-2 draw between the two sides at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

The fourth most read article was Ben McAleer's pre-match write up ahead of Borussia Dortmund's welcome of Tottenham Hotspur. The Bundesliga side ultimately romped to a 3-0 win over their Premier League counterparts in their first leg Europa League meeting at the Westfalenstadion, but not before we published an in-depth write up in the hours building up to kick off.

WhoScored's in-house writer Ben podiumed this week with his article about Salomon Rondon. Having moved to West Brom in the summer, the Venezuela international looks to finally be proving his worth having bagged four goals in his last six Premier League appearances.

Jonathan Wilson stars at number two having written about Danny Rose. The Spurs left-back has been one of the club's more consistent performers for the north London side this season as Jonathan argues Rose warrants England recognition when Roy Hodgson announces his upcoming team for the friendly meetings with Germany and Netherlands.

Topping the list this week is WhoScored's resident Italian football expert James Horncastle. The BT Sport pundit focused on Max Allegri's substitutions for Juventus since he took charge of the Old Lady over 18 months ago and the Italian coach's ability to make the right subs in order to swing a match in Juventus' favour.

For the news section meanwhile, the third most read piece was Leicester eyeing up a potential replacement for in-demand winger Riyad Mahrez, with Barcelona supposedly interested in the Foxes star. The Algerian isn't the only player on the club's radar, with reports that the European champions are scouting no fewer than four Borussia Dortmund players coming in at number two for the week.

However, they were pipped to the post by their fierce rivals Real Madrid in the news stakes as speculation linking Wendell with a move to the Bernabeu topping the most read news stories of the past seven days on WhoScored.com.
