Sevilla are interested in signing Lucas Perez from Arsenal 12 months after they missed out on his signature, reports AS.
Arsenal beat the likes of Sevilla and Everton to Perez’s signature last summer after matching the £17.5m release clause in his Deportivo La Coruna contract but the Spaniard has failed to make any impression on Arsene Wenger.
Perez has grown disillusioned by his lack of playing time at Arsenal this season and is ready to break away from the club this summer in order to find regular playing time and Sevilla are ready to hand the forward a route back to Spain.
The 28-year-old was in advanced talks with Sevilla last summer but Deportivo refused to entertain any offers less than his buy-out clause, while the transition between Unai Emery and Jorge Sampaoli also gave Arsenal the upper hand.
However, Perez only clocked up 265 minutes of playing time in the Premier League this season with only two starts coming from his 11 appearances in England’s top flight.
In the Champions League, Perez played a direct hand in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) despite only playing 136 minutes and his lack of game time has been baffling to some sections of the Arsenal supporters.
