Sunderland manager Simon Grayson has revealed the club are interested in handing Robert Snodgrass a way out of West Ham before the transfer window shuts.
Snodgrass has been told he is free to leave the Hammers just eight months after joining the club for more than £10m from Hull.
The Scotland international is free to leave permanently or on loan and Sunderland are interested in striking a deal with the Premier League outfit.
“When people like him become available you would be foolish not to consider it,” BBC Sport quote Grayson as saying ahead of their league game against Wolves.
“That would be a deal dictated by finances. Can we do it? Who knows, but we might ask the question.”
Snodgrass scored seven goals and registered three assists in 20 league appearances for Hull in the first half of last season, but only managed to weigh in with two assists in 15 games after joining the Hammers.
Since the start of last season, only Philippe Coutinho (3) has scored more direct free-kicks than Snodgrass in the Premier League.
