West Ham determined to keep Liverpool target

West Ham have no interest in selling Manuel Lanzini and will resist any approach from Liverpool this summer, reports the London Evening Standard.

Liverpool are aware of Barcelona’s interest in star man Philippe Coutinho but are determined to keep the Brazil international even if the Spanish giants make a stunning £80m offer.

However, reports have emerged suggesting Coutinho has personally asked Jurgen Klopp to sanction his move to the Camp Nou and Liverpool have earmarked Lanzini as a potential replacement.

Klopp’s side have a long-standing interest in the Argentina international but West Ham, like Liverpool, are desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old after adding players like Marko Arnautoic and Javier Hernandez to the squad this summer.

Lanzini has firmly established himself as a key player for Slaven Bilic’s side in the wake of Dimitri Payet’s departure at the start of the year and still has three years remaining on his existing deal.

West Ham determined to keep Liverpool target

In 2017 only Eden Hazard (18) has won possession in the attacking third more times in the Premier League than Lanzini (17), while only Wilfried Zaha (68) has completed more dribbles than The Jewel (67).

However, no player missed the target with more free-kicks in the Premier League last season than Lanzini (8).
