Tottenham eye summer move for Portuguese trio

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign three Portugal internationals this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

The north London outfit have fallen short on expectations this season and only look set to secure a top-four finish after being knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend.

Pochettino can already start planning for next season and has earmarked a move for three Portugal internationals to help bolster his options next term.

Tottenham have joined to race to sign Wolves star Ruben Neves, who has made a stunning impact at the Championship outfit during his first season at the club.

Wolves pulled off a stunning transfer to sign Neves from Porto last summer and the 21-year-old played an integral part in their Championship winning campaign.

Neves has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool but has already gone on record to express a desire to stay with Wolves during their first season back in the Premier League next season.

Tottenham are also interested in prising Cedric Soares from Southampton despite the fact they signed Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Southampton are facing the prospect of relegation to the Championship and will have to deal with a mass exodus of players if their worst fears become reality.

Soares is also being linked with a move to Manchester United, as Jose Mourinho seeks a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia.

The 26-year-old has largely been poor this season but is still highly regarded and a cut-price deal could be on the table if Southampton are relegated.

Pochettino is also still keen to bolster his offensive ranks despite the arrival of Lucas Moura from PSG in January.

Tottenham have previously been linked with moves for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Malcom of Bordeaux but are now interested in Sporting star Gelson Martins.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed another impressive season for the Portuguese giants, weighing in with eight goals and seven assists from out wide.

Since the start of last season, only Porto’s Yacine Brahimi (240) has completed more dribbles than Martins (137) in the Liga NOS.
