Paris Saint-Germain to hold talks with Arsenal midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain have earmarked Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey as a potential replacement for outgoing midfielder Adrien Rabiot, claims Sky Sports.

The Ligue 1 giants have already confirmed Rabiot will leave the club in one of the next two transfer windows after failing to agree terms on a new deal.

Rabiot’s current PSG deal is due to expire at the end of the season and Barcelona are the current frontrunners to secure his services on a free transfer.

PSG are already scouring Europe for his replacement and it emerged on Boxing Day that Thomas Tuchel’s side had already agreed personal terms with Watford ace Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Convincing Watford to let the 25-year-old leave the club midway through the season is a different hurdle that PSG will have to overcome if they are serious about signing Doucoure.

PSG are now assessing alternatives and Ramsey has propped up on their radar, due to the fact he will, like Rabiot, be a free transfer at the end of the season.

Arsenal told Ramsey earlier in the season that they will not attempt to renew his contract and Juventus and Bayern Munich are already circling.

Ramsey will only have six months left to run on his current Arsenal deal next month and will be free to discuss a Bosman transfer with foreign sides.

PSG plan to rival Juventus and Bayern for the Wales international, though there is reportedly also Premier League interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has only started seven Premier League matches this season after falling down the pecking order under Unai Emery.

Despite a lack of regular playing time, Ramsey has registered more assists than any other Arsenal player in the Premier League this season (6).
