Liverpool are prepared to spend big to secure the services of Roma sensation Mohamed Salah this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
The Reds had hoped to sign the Egypt international in 2014 when Brendan Rodgers was in charge, only for Liverpool to be beaten to his signature by Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Salah struggled for the Blues and was eventually sold to Roma, via a loan spell at Fiorentina, where he has excelled, with the 24-year-old this season netting 13 goals and registering 10 assists in Serie A.
Indeed, the attacker is one of only six players to register double figures for goals and assists in Europe’s top five leagues this term and his form has not gone unnoticed.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring in a versatile forward who can add goals with Salah fitting the bill as his return suggests.
The Reds have struggled at times in the final third in the Premier League this season, particularly when Sadio Mane was unavailable for the Merseyside outfit.
With Liverpool on course to secure Champions League football, Klopp is aware he needs to add strength in depth in all positions, with Salah the ideal frontman to complement the team’s fluid attack line.
