Barcelona are weighing up a €60m (£47.3m) move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti in the summer, according to Spanish newspaper La Rebubblica, via Calciomercato.
Luis Enrique’s midfield has come under the microscope following their premature elimination from the Champions League and they are now suggested to be considering rekindling their long-standing interest in the PSG midfielder.
Verratti, 23, is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the world, although he has spent the majority of 2016 battling injuries and is a doubt for the Euros.
The Italy international’s style of play is synonymous with Barcelona’s and it’s unsurprising that they would be linked with a player of his calibre in midfield.
In fact, only Thiago Silva (94.5%) has a better pass success rate than Verratti (93%) in Ligue 1 this season.
