Liverpool have been told they will have to pay Burnley up to £8m for Danny Ings, a British record for a signing set by tribunal, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Ings, 23, joined Liverpool from Burnley when his contract at Turf Moor expired last summer and it has taken nearly an entire year for the settlement to be agreed.
Liverpool will be forced to pay an initial £6.5m, although that could rise by a further £1.5m based on add-ons. Burnley will also be entitled to a further 20 per cent of any profit from a future sale.
A serious knee injury in Jurgen Klopp’s first training session back in October has seen Ings’ Liverpool career limited to just five appearances in the Premier League this season.
