Willian agrees to leave Chelsea for Arsenal

Chelsea winger Willian has agreed a three-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week with Arsenal, claims ESPN.

Willian's current deal with Chelsea will expire at the end of the month and he has turned down numerous extension offers from Frank Lampard's side.

The Brazil international, who turns 32 this weekend, has been looking for a three-year deal to renew with Chelsea.

With Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech already signed and a deal for Kai Havertz in the works, Chelsea have refused to match Willian's demand.

Willian has fielded offers from around the world but wants to remain in the Premier League and Arsenal have won the race for his signature.

Mikel Arteta's side have not only matched Willian's request for three years but there is also an option to a further 12 months.

Willian, who missed last weekend's FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal through injury, was a regular performer for Lampard and the Chelsea head coach had hoped to keep the experienced winger.

The Brazilian played a direct hand in 18 Premier League goals in 2019/20 (nine goals, seven assists), his best ever return in a single campaign since joining Chelsea in 2013.
