Real Madrid could offer Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure an escape route from the Etihad in the summer, according to Spanish publication Sport.
The 32-year-old’s future looks increasingly uncertain at the club following City’s confirmation that Pep Guardiola will take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season.
Guardiola was the manager that authorised the sale of Toure to City in 2007 and the Ivory Coast international’s agent has already come out with a series of bizarre comments about Guardiola that would appear to have made Toure’s future at City even more unlikely beyond the end of the season.
The powerful midfielder has come in for criticism for his performances in the last two years and is also reportedly linked with a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League, but Madrid could also offer the midfielder a way out.
Since the start of the 2009/10 campaign, only Wayne Rooney (17) has scored more goals from outside the area than Toure (16).

Real Madrid does not sign players of Toure's age. They opt for younger players.
