Arsenal’s opening offer of £15.2m for Shkodran Mustafi has been rejected by Valencia, according to Plaza Deportiva, via 101 Great Goals.
Mustafi, 25, has emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsene Wenger after Per Mertesacker was ruled out for a number of months through injury.
The Arsenal manager has remained tight-lipped over his interest in the former Everton central defender up to now but Valencia want between €25-30m (£21m-25m) for the Germany international.
No player has made more interceptions in the last two La Liga seasons than Mustafi (226).
