Anya commits future to Watford

Watford have announced Scotland international Ikechi Anya has signed a new long-term deal keeping him at the club until 2020.

Anya, 27, joined Watford from Granada in 2012 before making the deal permanent a year later.

The versatile winger has gone onto make 110 appearances for the Hornets, scoring nine goals and has also picked up 17 international caps since making his debut in September 2013.

Anya has featured in all seven of Watford’s opening fixtures back in the Premier League this season, with six of those coming as a starter in Quique Flores’ side.

Despite being used mainly at left-back, only Almen Abdi (2.6) and Jurado (1.7) average more key passes per game than Anya (1.3) for Watford in the Premier League this season.
