Lyon have agreed personal terms with River Plate defender Emanuel Mammana, according to French outlet RMC, via Get French Football.
Bruno Genesio’s side are also close to agreeing a fee with River for the 20-year-old central defender with an offer of just over €10m (£8m) reported to be enough to sign the highly rated Argentine.
Mammana, 20, had previously been linked with a move to Chelsea but Lyon have seemingly won the race to capture his signature.
Only three players average more interceptions per game in the Argentine Primera division than Mammana (4.1).
