Chelsea aim to hijack Manchester United's move for teenager

Chelsea are planning a last-ditch attempt to snare Birmingham City's Jude Bellingham from under the nose of Premier League rivals Manchester United, reports The Sunday Mirror.

The 16-year-old has been attracting significant interest from across the continent following a number of stand out displays in the Championship.

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund had believed they had won the race to sign Bellingham, while reports this week suggested United had convinced the player to move to Manchester.

The Blues, though, had supposedly stepped up their efforts to sign Bellingham before the Coronavirus pandemic hit and are prepared to push forward with their intention to sign the Birmingham youngster as and when the transfer window opens.

Bellingham isn't the only young Englishman both Chelsea and United are pushing for this summer, with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho both high on the two sides' wishlist.

Sancho, 20, won't come cheap, given his good form in Germany, but the 20-year-old is a priority signing for the Premier League giants.
