Arsenal are close to signing Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus, according to Calcionews24.
According to reports, Arsenal have made contact with the 18-year-old’s representatives and have been given the green light to strike a deal with Palmeiras in the coming weeks.
Arsene Wenger’s side have been criticised for not strengthening their options in attack over the past two seasons with Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott not deemed good enough to contest major trophies, however Jesus would only be a signing for the future.
The Brazil Under-20 international, who can play right the way across the right three, has enjoyed a successful breakout year with Palmeiras this season, playing a part in seven goals (four goals + three assists) from 20 appearances, as Marcelo Oliveira side finished midtable.
