Barcelona have announced Luis Suarez has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until at least 2021.
Suarez, 29, had two-and-a-half years remaining on the five-year deal he signed when he joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014 in a deal worth £75m.
However, Barcelona have been keen to secure the long-term futures of their star players having already wrapped up a fresh deal for Neymar with Lionel Messi’s new contract set to follow in the near future.
Suarez has established himself as a crucial part of Barcelona’s team in his two years at the club and made himself an integral part of one of the best tridents in recent history.

Despite his age, Barcelona have been willing to hand the Uruguay international a deal that will run until 2021.
Since the start of last season Suarez has scored at least three more goals than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues (50).
