Paris Saint-Germain put €40m asking price on Manchester United target

Paris Saint-Germain hope to command €40m (£35.2m) for Manchester United target Lucas Moura, reports French outlet Foot Mercato.

The Ligue 1 giants are looking to sell off some deadwood this month in order to offset the huge fees they have committed to the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over the summer.

Lucas is free leave PSG this month but Unai Emery’s side are struggling to find suitors willing to commit so much money for a player that has barely featured since the turn of 2017.

Interested clubs would prefer to take Lucas on loan for the remainder of the season before deciding whether to make the move permanent, but that does not suit PSG this month.

United have previously been linked with a move for Lucas and Jose Mourinho is reportedly weighing up a January move for the Brazil international, although the fee may put the Red Devils off.

Lucas has only made five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 this season, amassing 72 minutes of football. In the last five Ligue 1 campaigns, the PSG winger has completed the most dribbles (349).
