Real Madrid not quitting in pursuit of Chelsea star Hazard

Real Madrid have not conceded defeat in their pursuit of Chelsea star Eden Hazard and are set to bid near his £200m valuation, claims The Daily Express.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid since the end of last season and has stalled on extending his stay at Stamford Bridge for the last 12 months.

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has claimed it will be impossible for Madrid to sign Hazard now the transfer window for English clubs has shut.

While foreign sides are still able to buy, Chelsea would be unable to replace Hazard if Madrid come in with a world record bid and prise him away from Stamford Bridge.

It would be a huge shock if Madrid manage to sign Hazard even if they are willing to break the bank for the Belgium international.

Hazard has not pushed for a move to Madrid even though it is understood he is open to securing a blockbuster move to the European champions and it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to leave Sarri’s side in the dark now they cannot sign a replacement.

The 27-year-old was sensational at the 2018 World Cup, finishing the tournament as the highest WhoScored rated player 8.51.

Not only that, but Hazard gained a sensational rating of 7.71 from his 14-minute cameo in Chelsea’s opening league game against Huddersfield on Saturday.

Despite coming on so late in the game, no Premier League player has completed more dribbles on the opening weekend than Hazard (6).
