Paris Saint-Germain open to Neymar’s departure

Paris Saint-Germain are running out of patience with Neymar’s behaviour and will entertain his departure this summer, claims L’Equipe.

Neymar has spent the last two seasons at PSG after completing a world-record £200m deal from Barcelona.

The Brazil international is yet to complete a full campaign for the Ligue 1 champions after suffering serious ankle injuries in each season.

Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Spain ever since joining PSG and it is even alleged he regrets leaving Barcelona.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi sensationally revealed over the weekend the club will no longer stand for ‘superstar behaviour’ as they aim to end their woes in the Champions League.

Neymar’s behaviour on and off the pitch has been called into question on numerous occasions in the last two years and PSG are prepared to sell him this summer.

Given the situation Neymar is in outside of football, it’s unlikely he will be sold this summer and there are only a few clubs that can even afford him.

Manchester United have been linked with Neymar in the past but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has put an end to the club’s pursuit of superstar names.

It was thought at the time of Neymar’s move to PSG that he would end up at Real Madrid but Zinedine Zidane’s side have just committed more than £100m into signing Eden Hazard.

Barcelona are an obvious destination for the Brazilian but they will certainly have to sell several big name players before they can even entertain his return, while Antoine Griezmann is expected to join from Atletico Madrid next month.

The 27-year-old has played a direct hand in 54 goals in 37 league games since joining PSG in the summer of 2017.
