Leicester bring in Ranieri

Leicester City have announced the appointment of Italian Claudio Ranieri as their new manager.

The Foxes relieved Nigel Pearson of his duties at the King Power Stadium last month and the club have moved swiftly to bring in his replacement.

Ranieri was available following his sacking as Greece manager, during which he took charge of five games, losing four and drawing the other.

Nevertheless, the 63-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Leicester, tying him to the club until 2018.

Leicester bring in Ranieri

"I'm so glad to be here in a Club with such a great tradition as Leicester City. I have worked at many great clubs, in many top leagues, but since I left Chelsea I have dreamt of another chance to work in the best league in the world again," Ranieri told the club's official website.

"I wish to thank the owner, his son and all the executives of the Club for the opportunity they are giving me. Now I've only one way for returning their trust: squeeze all my energies to getting the best results for the team."
