Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement to sign Porto centre-back Eder Militao for €50m (£44.1m), claims AS.
Militao has emerged as one of the most sought after young defenders in Europe this season and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have made signing a new centre-back a priority but will wait until the end of the season before making a decision on their top target.
Militao is one of several defenders that have been linked with a move to Old Trafford but it has now emerged Madrid have told Porto they will match his current €50m release clause.
Santiago Solari’s side have accelerated their interest in Militao due to the fact his buy-out clause will increase to €75m (£66.2m) in June.
Militao will spend the remainder of the campaign at Porto before commencing his six-year deal with Madrid in the summer.
The Brazilian centre-back is the fourth highest WhoScored rated player in Liga NOS this season and the best rated defender (7.51).
