Juventus set sights on former Stoke midfielder

Juventus want to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to Marca, via Football Italia.

The Serie A champions are keen to buy a dominant central midfielder and are expected to step up their attempts to sign one in January after missing out on Zenit St. Petersburg ace Axel Witsel.

Juventus are still reportedly interested in the Belgium international but they appear to be moving toward Sevilla’s N’Zonzi following his impressive start to the season.

N’Zonzi, 27, has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League, and with a reported €30m (£25.5m) release clause, he is essentially up for grabs for anyone that is willing to match the fee.

The uncapped Frenchman featured in Sevilla’s controversial 3-1 defeat to Juventus in midweek, allowing Max Allegri’s side a closer view of his ability, which has not changed their mind despite the scoreline.

Only three players have attempted more passes in the Champions League this season than N’Zonzi (431).
