West Brom reach agreement for new striker

West Brom have agreed a £16m fee for the signing of West Ham striker Diafra Sakho, reports Sky Sports.

The Hammers are prepared to let the 26-year-old leave this summer, despite their failure to acquire a new frontman so far during the off-season.

West Brom, meanwhile, are in the market for a new striker after their decision to release Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe.

With Saido Berahino also expected to leave the Hawthorns before the transfer window closes, leaving Tony Pulis with only Salomon Rondon as the club’s only senior striker, another frontman is essential.

They are now prepared to spend big on Sakho, who has netted 15 Premier League goals since moving to east London from Metz in 2014.
