Barcelona yet to bid for Paris Saint-Germain wantaway Neymar

Barcelona have not made a formal bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar as things stand, claims ESPN.

PSG have confirmed Neymar wants to leave the club just two years after his world-record move from Barcelona.

The Brazil international is desperate to return to Barcelona and the LaLiga giants are putting together a proposal to re-sign the 27-year-old.

A deal to sign Neymar is made more complex due to the fact Barcelona are already operating at their financial threshold.

Barcelona have confirmed they needed to take out a loan to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, suggesting there is no money available to facilitate Neymar’s return.

Ernesto Valverde’s side are expected to table a player-plus-cash deal for Neymar, with the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele understood to be on offer.

However, Barcelona are yet to make their move for Neymar and PSG have not received any offers for the world’s most expensive player.

Neymar has endured two nightmare years at PSG and his reputation has taken a huge hit.

The Brazilian has failed to complete a full campaign with PSG due to several serious ankle injuries but when he has been on the pitch he has generally been sensational.

In fact, Neymar has remarkably played a direct hand in 54 goals in 37 league appearances for PSG (34 goals, 20 assists).
